Mirrors Release – September 2007

With her second CD titled 'Mirrors', Michelle continues to share His love in churches and communities across the Midwest.  As a solo performer, Michelle sings her self-written songs from the piano. Michelle has been performing all her life and has chosen to use her gifts for God.

We can be mirrors, shining the light
Sharing His love, changing lives
We want to see Jesus in each and every face
Gleaming with hope that illuminates

On the heels of Reflections, Mirrors goes deeper into the internal pain, struggle and hope that we experience as we face difficult situations and work to find purpose and eternal significance in our lives.

From Michelle:

At times we find ourselves peering out through our dimly lit surroundings and realize that our vision has become impaired – not because the sun has failed to come out, but because we’ve let the windows of our lives get dirty and were too busy or distracted to notice. Our relationships seem distant and unfulfilling. We’ve withdrawn and closed off the only source of light that can break through and bring inspiration and fresh insight into our lives.

When the windows of my life become cracked and broken and the images are distorted – I lose my way. I find myself calling out to God so that I can cry on His shoulder and ask Him to fix the broken pieces of my life. I ask Him to help me see outside of myself so that I can make a difference in someone else’s life – be a mirror reflecting God’s love.

I have a three-year-old nephew that loves to pray before meals. Every night it’s the same. He folds his hands, closes his eyes and earnestly prays, “Thank you God for the food that we bought at Wal-Mart. Amen!” Don’t misunderstand me – this is not an endorsement for where I think you should shop. But I have learned that the sincerity and consistency of a three-year-old who is just beginning to understand the concept of God is bringing to mind my own inconsistent relationship with my Creator. I realize that my ever-narrowing perspective that causes me to feel more isolated and alone exists only because I haven’t consistently let Him in to help lead and guide me through my crazy life. He can give me fresh perspective, release me from my self-inflicted guilt, and mold me from a rough piece of stone into a shiny, beautiful piece of glass – a mirror that shines through me and reflects His love.

Reflections Release – January 2007

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Cor 3:17-18)

Simply put, life is an amazing journey – a true gift from above.  With every step, we get closer to understanding its wonder. During the course of creating and completing Reflections, it became clear that in order to know who we are at the core, we must reflect on the path that has brought us to this point and embrace the path that we are about the embark on.  It’s all about choice.

With this gift, we are given a choice.   Once we know who we are, the choice is clear, but not easy.  As we move along the journey, life wears layers of self-doubt, confusion, and disillusion on us.  We become less able to clearly see the choice that we have been given.  Over time, our perspective becomes narrow, life seems cold and love becomes a faint light in the distance.  We need to travel back in time to our roots and re-discover who we were made to be and know that there is a better way.

But we do not travel alone in the journey.  We never have and we never will. God is our guide, leading the way through this crazy and amazing life.  When we surrender ourselves to His control, we can be free from all that binds us. We can live as we were meant to live.  We can love and be loved as He has meant for it to be.

Reflections is my journey.
